The Staff Selection commission (SSC) is conducting the SSC GD Constable Examination 2025 to recruit Constables for various armed forces across India. The official notification was released on 5th September 2024, inviting online applications from eligible candidates for 39,481 Constable positions.

Pay Scale:

  • Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB): Pay Level-1 (₹18,000 to ₹56,900)
  • All other Posts: Pay Level-3 (₹21,700 to ₹69,100)

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th grade) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 to 23 years of age as of 1st January 2025. The date of birth should fall between 2nd January 2001 and 1st January 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC and Ex-Servicemen: 3 years
  • SC/ ST: 5 years

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Candidates applying for the SSC GD Constable Exam will need to appear for a Computer-Based Exam (CBE). The CBE will include an objective-type paper consisting of 80 questions, with a total score of 160 marks. The exam details are as follows:

  1. All questions in the examination will be objective multiple-choice types, and the computer-based exam will be available in both English and Hindi.
  2. There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer, so candidates are advised to keep this in mind when answering questions.
  3. There will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of scores. Any inquiries related to this matter will not be acknowledged.
  4. Marks from the Computer-Based Examination will be normalized as per the formula specified in Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019 by the Commission. These normalized scores, along with any bonus marks awarded to NCC certificate holders, will be used to finalize the merit list and cut-off marks. The questions in the Computer Based Examination will be at the matriculation level.
  5. The use of calculators or other electronic devices is strictly prohibited during the examination, and candidates are advised not to bring such devices to the exam hall.

Syllabus of CBT Exam:

The syllabus for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is outlined below. Applicants are encouraged to prepare for the exam based on this syllabus, which can also be found on page 13 of the official notification.

A) General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section will assess analytical aptitude and the ability to observe and differentiate patterns, primarily through non-verbal questions. Topics include analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, and coding and decoding.

B) General Knowledge and General Awareness: This section aims to test the candidate’s general awareness of their surroundings, current events, and basic observations and experiences in their scientific aspect. It will cover topics related to India and its neighboring countries, including sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian constitution, and scientific research. The questions will not require specialized study in any particular discipline.

C) Elementary Mathematics: Questions will cover number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentages, ratios and proportions, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and proportion, and time and work.

D) English/Hindi: This section will evaluate the candidate’s ability to understand basic English or Hindi and their comprehension skills.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

In the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), candidates must complete several physical activities within specified time limits. The details of the required race are outlined in the table below:

Candidates must complete the physical tasks within these prescribed time limits to qualify for the PET stage.

Male candidates, excluding those from SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen categories, need to pay an application fee of ₹100 to complete the online application process.

Payment Method: The fee can be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using debit cards from Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay.

Candidates applying for the first time for any Staff Selection Commission recruitment must complete the one-time registration (OTR) process. Those who have already registered can simply log in to the SSC website. Candidates may follow the mentioned steps to apply for SSC GD Recruitment :-
