The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released two official notifications for recruiting 11,558 vacancies under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts. Interested candidates can apply for the RRB NTPC Recruitment online via the official RRB web portal. The applications will be accepted for RRB CEN 05/2024 and RRB CEN 06/2024 Recruitment.

Graduate Level:

  • Age Limit: 18 to 36 years as of 1st January 2025
  • Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST

Undergraduate Level (12th grade):

  • Notification No: RRB CEN 06/2024
  • Educational Qualification: Passed Class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board
  • Age Limit: 18 to 33 years as of 1st January 2025
  • Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST

STAGE 1

Candidates applying for the RRB NTPC Exam will need to appear for a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The CBT will include objective-type questions consisting of 100 questions, with a total score of 100 marks. The exam details are as follows:

  • No. of Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 1.5 Hours (90 Minutes)
  • Exam Type: Online (Computer Based Test)
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer

  1. All questions in the examination will be objective multiple-choice types.
  2. There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each incorrect answer, so candidates are advised to keep this in mind when answering question.
  3. For PWD candidates the exam duration is 120 minutes.
  4. The number of candidates shortlisted will be 20 times the community-wise vacancies, based on merit in the 1st Stage CBT and post preferences.
  5. The normalized score from the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on merit.

STAGE 2

Candidates who are selected for the 2nd Stage CBT using reservation benefits for OBC(NCL), SC, ST, EWS, PWD, and Ex-Servicemen categories will remain eligible only under these categories in all further stages of the recruitment process.

Candidates will be called for Document Verification based on their performance in the 2nd Stage CBT and, if applicable, their performance in both the 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT/TST. The number of candidates invited will be equal to the number of vacancies, ranked by merit and their selected options.

Examination Fee:

  • Concession Categories (PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, Economically Backward Classes): Rs. 250/-
  • All Other Candidates: Rs. 500/-

Refund of Fee:

  • Concession Categories: Full refund of Rs. 250/- after the examination
  • All Other Candidates: Refund of Rs. 400/- after the examination

Mode of Payment:

  • Candidates can pay the examination fee via online methods: Credit/Debit Card, NetBanking, or UPI.
  • No other payment methods will be accepted.
